As Senate Deal Sinks, So Does Bush’s Power - New York Times

As Senate Deal Sinks, So Does Bush’s Power - As FORREST GUMP said, "STUPID IS - STUPID DOES".

This means we can never do anything in this
country that needs doing unless the public popularity supports it!

PROBLEM IS MOST OF THE PUBLIC IS TO LAZY
TO INFORM THEMSELVES OF THE FACTS AND
TOO HATEFUL TO REALIZE THAT A SOLUTION MAY NOT BE PERFECT
BUT IS VASTLY BETTER THAN DOING NOTHING!

These are same people who have said nothing when GWB
took away the fundamental basis on which a free society is
based.

HABEAS CORPUS!
You expect people dumb enough to let HC to disappear,
is smart enough to know how to fix such a complex issue as the immigration issue has become?

NOT IN OUR COLLECTIVE LIFETIMES!!

WE DON'T HAVE A 'REFERENDUM DEMOCRACY'
which would mean no need for 'elected' representatives.
We elect our representatives to
USE GOOD JUDGEMENT not just rubber stamp
UNINFORMED AND HATE BASED PUBLIC OPINION!

IF EVERYTHING WE DO WAS A MAJORITY POPULAR OPINION.
THE `BILL OF RIGHTS' WOULDN'T BE NEEDED IN THE CONSTITUTION.

A Failure of Leadership - New York Times

A Failure of Leadership -
I've been talking about this lack of leadership from elected
people for the past two weeks on the radio program!
Maybe I should be writing the NYT editorials!?
